Diploma apostille for Brazil.

Sending a Florida diploma to Brazil — typically for marriage registration, CPF and consular processes — takes exactly one certificate: a Florida apostille from the Department of State in Tallahassee. Brazil is a Hague member, so once the apostille is attached, no consulate or embassy step is needed on the U.S. side.

The part that causes rejections is the document itself: the state will only apostille a notarized copy — the registrar certifies or a Florida notary attests to the copy; original diplomas are never surrendered to the state. The state fee for this document type is $10 — included in our $220 either way — and our pre-filing review confirms your copy is in the right lane before it ever reaches the counter.

Order online from anywhere in the U.S.: we review your documents, then FedEx emails you a pre-paid QR code, your diploma rides to our Tallahassee team, gets walked in to the state counter in person, and comes back apostilled in 5–7 business days. Brazil-side requirements like certified translation are done after — so the apostille certificate is covered too.

How a Florida diploma or transcript is used in Brazil

Brazil revalidates foreign university degrees through public universities that offer the same course, and the process typically runs through the Ministry of Education's Carolina Bori platform. You need it to practice a regulated profession or for some public jobs and graduate admissions. The university reviews the diploma, transcripts and course content, so expect a long list and a sworn Portuguese translation from a Brazilian public translator. On the Florida side, the registrar of a public school or university must sign before a notary when the document is issued, with a complete notarial certificate.

Translation for Brazil

Our general rule for translations is certified by the translator, notarized by a separate notary and apostilled in Florida, but Brazil instead requires its own public translators. Under Law 14.195/2021, only a tradutor e intérprete público registered with a Brazilian Junta Comercial gives a translation public faith in Brazil, and the original-language document must accompany it. Apostille in Florida first, then have a Brazilian public translator translate the apostilled original, and ask whether the apostille page must be translated too.
