One service for every Florida document.

An apostille is the form of authentication required when you use a U.S. document in another country that's a member of the 1961 Hague Convention. For any Florida-issued document, only the Florida Department of State in Tallahassee can issue an apostille — no other agency, no notary, no courthouse, no consulate. The state's standard mail-in turnaround is five to seven weeks. Our turnaround is five to seven business days. We close that gap by walking every document into the apostille counter in Tallahassee in person.

My Florida Apostille handles every category of Florida document the FL DOS will authenticate. Vital records (birth, marriage, divorce, death certificates), state law-enforcement records (FDLE background checks), educational credentials (diplomas, transcripts), notarized private documents (powers of attorney, affidavits, single-status letters, corporate resolutions), and Sunbiz corporate filings (articles of incorporation, certificates of good standing). If your document is Florida-issued and your destination country is a Hague signatory, we can apostille it.

Pricing is flat across every document type: $220 per document, with bundle discounts at 2 documents ($380 total) and 3+ documents ($160 each). State filing fee and return shipping are included. No hidden fees, no rush charges, no per-document add-ons. The same price whether you order online from anywhere in the U.S., meet us in person by appointment at our West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa or Clearwater office.

Florida apostille, explained.

Every Florida apostille is issued by one office: the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations, Apostille Section in Tallahassee. The Secretary of State is Florida's competent authority under the 1961 Hague Convention, so the apostille confirms the signature of the Florida official on your document — a notary, a Clerk of Court, the State Registrar, or a school registrar acting as a notary. No county clerk, notary, courthouse or consulate can issue one.

The document itself must be Florida-issued: a certified birth or death certificate from the Bureau of Vital Statistics or a county health department, a clerk-certified marriage license, divorce decree or court order, a Florida-notarized document, a school-notarized diploma or transcript, an FDLE background check, or a Division of Corporations certificate. Documents from other states are apostilled by that state, and federal documents by the U.S. Department of State.

If the destination country isn't a Hague member — the UAE, Qatar or Egypt, for example — Florida issues an authentication certificate instead, from the same office for the same fee. That certificate is the Florida step only; the federal and embassy steps that follow are separate. See Florida authentication for non-Hague countries.

You can file yourself: complete the state's apostille request form, pay $10 per document ($20 for documents certified by a Florida Clerk of Court) and include a prepaid return envelope. By mail the state's queue runs about 5–7 weeks, plus shipping both ways; a wrong copy or fee sends you back to the start. Or let us do it: $220 per document all-in, reviewed before filing, filed in person, back in 5–7 business days. The full do-it-yourself walkthrough is in our step-by-step guide.

International Real Estate Closings

Buying property in Mexico, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, Italy, Portugal, or Spain? Closings require an apostilled, notarized power of attorney for a local attorney to sign on your behalf.

Foreign Work Visas

UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, Korea, China, the UK, and most EU work visa applications require an apostilled FDLE background check, diploma, and often birth certificate as part of the package.

International Marriage

Marrying abroad? Most foreign governments require an apostilled birth certificate, FDLE check, and notarized single-status affidavit before issuing a marriage license.

Foreign Education

Diplomas and transcripts from UF, FSU, UCF, USF, FAU, FIU, U of Miami, Miami Dade College, and other Florida schools must be apostilled before submission to foreign universities or credential evaluators like WES.
