Diploma apostille for Chile.

Sending a Florida diploma to Chile — typically for work visas, university credentials — takes exactly one certificate: a Florida apostille from the Department of State in Tallahassee. Chile is a Hague member, so once the apostille is attached, no consulate or embassy step is needed on the U.S. side.

The part that causes rejections is the document itself: the state will only apostille a notarized copy — the registrar certifies or a Florida notary attests to the copy; original diplomas are never surrendered to the state. The state fee for this document type is $10 — included in our $220 either way — and our pre-filing review confirms your copy is in the right lane before it ever reaches the counter.

Order online from anywhere in the U.S.: we review your documents, then FedEx emails you a pre-paid QR code, your diploma rides to our Tallahassee team, gets walked in to the state counter in person, and comes back apostilled in 5–7 business days. Chile-side requirements like certified translation are done after — so the apostille certificate is covered too.

How a Florida diploma or transcript is used in Chile

Chile's Foreign Ministry recognizes professional degrees only from a short list of treaty countries, and the United States isn't on it. A U.S. degree goes to the Universidad de Chile's foreign-degree revalidation office, which needs it for regulated professions and sets its own document list. Get that list before ordering anything; it may ask for transcripts and course descriptions as well. On the Florida side, the registrar of a public school or university must sign before a notary when the document is issued, with a complete notarial certificate. A diploma photocopy notarized later won't qualify.

Translation for Chile

Our general rule for translations is certified by the translator, notarized by a separate notary and apostilled in Florida, but Chile often needs less or something different. Migraciones requires an official translation only for documents in a language other than Spanish or English. The Registro Civil instead wants a certified Spanish translation from Chile's Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the relevant consulate; the Ministry's service translates the apostilled original and can deliver it online. Translate after the apostille, and only when the receiving office asks.
