What we do for documents going to Kuwait

Let's be straight with you: Kuwait is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention (checked against the Hague Conference status table in October 2026). A Florida apostille, from us or anyone, won't be accepted there.

What a Florida document needs instead starts with a Florida Department of State authentication certificate, the non-Hague counterpart of an apostille. That's the part we handle. We review your document, file it in person in Tallahassee, and send it back to you in 5–7 business days. The price is the same as an apostille: $220 for one document, $380 for two, $160 each for three or more, with U.S. shipping included ($100 flat for international delivery).

For Kuwait, the usual documents are degrees and transcripts for work permits, marriage and birth certificates for family visas, and powers of attorney.

The usual Florida rules apply: original certified copies of public records, original notarizations with a complete Florida notarial certificate, and school records notarized by the school when issued. Need something notarized first? Add online notarization to your order.

What happens next: U.S. Department of State authentication and the Kuwaiti Embassy

After the Florida certificate, the next steps are a U.S. Department of State authentication and then legalization by the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Washington, D.C. The embassy sets the requirements, so get its current checklist for your document type before you start.

We don't handle or arrange the U.S. Department of State authentication or the embassy legalization. Once we return your Florida-authenticated document, you continue directly with those offices.

Ask these questions before you start

Your employer, sponsor, or the Kuwaiti authority receiving the document is your best source. Ask them:

  • Does the document also need to be attested by Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs after it arrives?
  • Do they need an Arabic translation, and who may prepare it?
  • Does the record need to be issued within a certain number of months?

Getting those answers first means the Florida step only has to be done once.
