A Florida divorce decree is a court record: the Clerk of Court in the county where the divorce was granted certifies a copy of the final judgment, and the Department of State apostilles that certification ($20 state fee). A paper copy with the clerk's original stamp and seal, or the clerk's official e-certification, both work. The copy from your final hearing or your attorney's file doesn't.
Divorces granted in Sarasota County are certified by the Sarasota County Clerk of the Circuit Court and County Comptroller. Florida restricts online access to family records, so you may need to register with the clerk's portal or call the records office with both names and the year. Ask for every page the foreign office wants — settlement agreement and parenting plan included — as one certified copy.
Order online from Sarasota and drop the envelope at any FedEx, or meet our Tampa team by appointment — about 50 miles away. We file it in person in Tallahassee and return it in 5–7 business days: $220 all-in, $380 for two, $160 each for three or more. How a Florida divorce decree apostille works → · Sarasota County divorce decrees →
Every week we help dozens of Sarasota County residents authenticate their documents for use abroad. These are the most common reasons divorce certificate apostille services are requested.
Marrying again in another country? Most foreign governments require an apostilled prior divorce decree before issuing a marriage license. Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, the Caribbean — all standard requirements.
Italian, Polish, and other ancestral citizenship applications sometimes require apostilled divorce decrees in the line of descent — particularly where ancestor relationships or name changes affect the application.
Florida divorce judgments that include child custody, child support, or visitation orders need to be apostilled if you're seeking foreign enforcement or recognition of those orders.
When the Florida divorce judgment addressed property located abroad (real estate, bank accounts, business interests), the apostilled judgment is required to enforce or record that division in the foreign jurisdiction.
Foreign probate proceedings sometimes require apostilled divorce decrees to clarify marital status at the time of an inheritance event.
Foreign banks and property title registries occasionally request apostilled divorce decrees to update records when an account or title holder's marital status has changed.
Both options end the same way — your apostilled documents back in your hands in 5–7 business days, filed in person at the Florida Department of State. All that changes is how your documents reach us.
Meet our Tampa team in person — about 55 miles from Sarasota. By appointment only, 9 AM – 6 PM, Monday–Friday: we confirm the time and place when we call, then review everything on the spot before it gets filed.
Order online and we review your documents, then FedEx emails you a pre-paid QR code. Bring your documents to any FedEx in Sarasota — FedEx supplies the envelope, no printer or appointment needed.
The same procedure for every Sarasota apostille — whichever option you choose.
Order online, or request an in-person appointment. Pay $220 per document online, or at the appointment.
Hand them to us at your appointment, or drop your FedEx envelope. Same destination either way.
Our Tallahassee back-office team walks your documents in person to the Florida Department of State counter.
We return the finished apostille the same way you sent it. 5–7 business days, every order.
Sarasota is home to roughly 57,000 residents. With Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport and major arteries like St. Armands Circle, the Ringling Museum, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, Siesta Key Beach, I-75 all within reach, the city is part of one of Florida's most internationally connected regions — which is why so many residents need documents authenticated for use abroad.
We serve clients throughout Sarasota's neighborhoods including Downtown, St. Armands Circle, Lido Key, Siesta Key border, Palmer Ranch, Laurel Park, and Indian Beach Sapphire Shores, as well as nearby municipalities such as Bradenton, Venice, Lakewood Ranch, Longboat Key, Siesta Key, and Osprey.
For Sarasota residents, the most convenient option depends on where you are: order online from anywhere — we review your documents, then FedEx emails you a prepaid QR code — or meet us in person by appointment at one of our five appointment offices. Whichever you pick, every document gets walked in person to the Florida Department of State by our Tallahassee back-office team — same 5–7 business day turnaround.

By using myfloridaapostille.com or our apostille service, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully before placing an order.
My Florida Apostille is an independent document service that facilitates apostille processing through the Florida Department of State on behalf of customers. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Florida Department of State, the U.S. Department of State, or any government agency. We are a private business providing convenience services.
You agree to:
Our standard turnaround is five to seven business days from the moment we receive your documents at our office. This timeline depends on third-party factors outside our control, including FedEx transit times and the Florida Department of State's processing schedule. We are not liable for delays caused by carriers, state offices, weather, holidays, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If the Florida Department of State rejects your document, we will contact you within one business day to discuss options. Some rejections can be resolved same-day at the counter; others require new documents from the issuing agency. Rejections do not entitle you to a refund of the state filing fee or our service fee, because both the fee and the labor have been performed.
Documents shipped via FedEx are insured up to $100 by default. For irreplaceable documents, you may purchase additional FedEx Declared Value coverage when you hand your envelope to FedEx. We are not liable for loss or damage during transit beyond FedEx's published insurance coverage.
Payment is due at the time of order placement and is processed by Stripe. Refunds are governed by our separate Refund Policy.
All content on myfloridaapostille.com, including text, graphics, logos, and design, is the property of My Florida Apostille and protected by U.S. copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the order in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost opportunities, missed deadlines, or visa application denials.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Leon County, Florida.
We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

We want every customer to be satisfied. Because our service involves third-party fees and irreversible work performed on your behalf, refunds depend on when you cancel.
To request a refund, contact us by:
Include your order number (from your confirmation email) and a brief explanation. We will respond within one business day.
Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer may take additional time to display the refund.
If your documents are damaged or lost in transit by FedEx, FedEx insurance applies (default $100, or up to the Declared Value coverage you purchased). We will work with you to file a FedEx claim. Our service fee is non-refundable in these cases because the loss occurred outside our control.
If you have questions about our refund policy before placing an order, please contact us — we'd rather answer questions upfront than handle refunds later.
